The Spider Trilogy

by Guy Butler

Guy Butler’s The Spider Trilogy begins the story of Czeslaw Orlowski, a Polish resistance fighter, in the first book, Balls of Leather and Steel. Chez, known as the Spider for his daring acts of sabotage against the Nazis, agrees to take part in the rescue of famous soccer player and RAF officer Malcolm McClain from a German prison camp.

In the second book of the trilogy, A Gordian Web, Chez makes a deal with Winston Churchill: in exchange for the rescue of his family from advancing Russian troops, he’ll lend his special talents to a personal mission requested by the British Prime Minister.

Book three of the trilogy, The Final Fandango, takes Chez into a new landscape years after WWII, where the hunt for former Nazis continues.
